Mother’s Day to me is a day for celebration. Not for myself,
but for all the wonderful women in my life, past and present. I am very
fortunate to still have my own mother. My Grandma Hubbard passed away four
years ago, yet I still miss her.
Mother’s Day is not about gifts and flowers and cards, it’s
about family, and friends; spending time with them while they are on this
earth. Why wait for a holiday to tell someone you love them, take them
shopping, or go out for dinner?
I lost my Aunt Susie when she was 47. We were very close. My
favorite memories are going to the movies together. She was very ill, and had
many bad days before she passed. However, it is the good days that I remember.
Please leave a comment, if you are missing someone today.
I miss my mother who passed away Jan 24, 1999 from cancer and my oldest son who passed away Jan 2, 2011, after losing his battle with war induced PTSD. This will be my second mother's day without him and I'm hoping for a quiet day with my other children.
ReplyDelete@sue Very sorry for your losses, know that they never completely leave us. Memories are priceless.
ReplyDeleteI miss my Mother who passed away on what is known as "Black Friday" the day after Thanksgiving, 2009. She had a heart condition and dementia. I am the youngest child and we were very close. She taught me so many life lessons without finishing school in the 1940's.

I lost my aunt Debbie 4 years ago in February from ovarian cancer. What is really hard, is that the visitation for her funeral was the last time we saw one of my cousins, he had a seizure in the night & died.

I missed have the chance to get too know my grandmother (mom's mother) & an aunt. They were killed when I was a baby so I never got to know them at all. I am also really missing my grandfather (dad's side). I always loved spending time with him, from the time I was a little girl until his death almost 6 years ago. Thank you for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteMy mother passed away last year. I miss her every day. I can't even think of her without tearing up, with good thoughts and sad ones.
ReplyDeleteWhen I finally write a book I'll participate. Every influential woman in my life has died (mother, grandmothers) so this mother's day will be a celebration of me with my kiddo. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis weekend is the anniversary of my son's death, it's been 21 years and I miss him every day.
